Feng Shui compass arrow pointing north or south?

When I was at my door entrance to the outside. The Feng Shui compass arrow pointing north (ie 12oclock). But the map and the orientation of the entrance of my home should be in the range of SOUTH confronted instead. Why is there such a contradictory opposite?

The Chinese name for compass Zhi Zhen Nan, do the Needle Pointing South? Plan should be good enough.
